Netflix Conundrum
The Tyranny of Choices
Ever felt overwhelmed staring at Netflix's endless array of 50,000 movies, yet finding nothing to watch? It's like being the proverbial donkey, equally hungry and thirsty, positioned between a haystack and a water bucket, unable to decide, and—spoiler alert—ends up dead.
Welcome to the "Paradox of Choice." Studies show that too many options can actually make us less satisfied. Think about it, more choices, higher expectations, followed by regret and self-blame. That’s not just frustrating, it's exhausting.
Take the peanut butter dilemma I face at the grocery store. Choosing between chunky and creamy? Easy. But throw in fifty varieties and suddenly I’m in a peanut butter panic, obsessed with finding the perfect one.
It’s clear that sometimes less is more. Consider why Steve Jobs opted for his signature black turtleneck or why Obama limited his wardrobe to two colors of suits. They streamlined their choices to conserve mental energy for more critical decisions.
So, next time you're overwhelmed by choices, take a page out of Steve Jobs book and simplify.
Until the next spark, focus on less, not more.

I think to simplify one’s choices makes for a more productive life.
Sometimes this leads me to become more of a high brow fascist, when it comes to film/tv. Meta critic score of under 85-90 range, and I won’t even pay attention
